Just received an off-brand speed-booster made in China that claimed to do everything the metabones booster does except nearly $300 cheaper. Disclaimer: I do not own a Metabones Speedbooster so I cannot compare the two.

I decided to test the speed-booster out on my Tokina 11-16mm F2.8. And it certainly turns that lens into an epic wide angle lens for the bmpcc. It reduces the crop factor from 2.88 to 2.14 - making my lens a 24mm-34mm.
I honestly cannot tell if the image is "sharper" with or without the speed booster, but I can tell it was certainly wider and a stop brighter.
