Building Small Brands was a presentation delivered by Giles Etherington, Owner and Creative Director of Brand Satellite (http://brandsatellite.co.uk) at the Your Brand and Online Selling event. Giles' presentation demonstrates how the branding principles used by the big multi-national companies can be adapted to small companies and even individuals. Giles explains what is involved in creating a brand, the importance of keeping the brand consistent across all communications and provides useful starting points for anyone thinking creating their own brand.
Your Brand and Online Selling was the first of two professional development training events delivered in partnership by Applied Arts Scotland (AAS) (http://www.appliedartsscotland.org.uk) and Craft Scotland (http://www.craftscotland.org) in February 2014. The event inspired makers to make the most of their brand and support the successful online selling of their work and use of social media. The events were for Scottish based makers who wanted to create or refresh their brand, showcase and improve their presence online, whether increasing online sales or enhancing their social media presence.
