Redhouse Cymru, a new arts and media centre in the old Merthyr Town Hall, approached me with the prospect of using their Victorian holding cell dating from 1896 as a venue for my artwork.
Edward, Catherine, Selina and Richard are awaiting their fate in the cell, about to be taken up to the courtroom above.
They have all committed crimes but they want to tell you why. The cell echoes with their pleas and provocations as sound clips created by performing arts students at Merthyr College are triggered as you approach the paintings.
The installation was for the St David's Day 2014 opening at Redhouse Cymru in the William Foy Cell.
Paintings are A5 size- oils on board on red velvet.
The program used Processing and SimpleOpenNI running on a Macbook Pro with xbox Kinect sensor.
