The national graduation rate from high school is 78% while in Georgia in 2013 it was 71.5%. The Georgia National Guard and the State of Georgia came together in 1993 to create two Youth Challenge Academy programs - one at Fort Stewart and the other at Fort Gordon. Since that time more than 12,000 at risk teenagers have graduated from the 22 week residential program and of these teenagers, more than 9,000 have earned their GED or high school diploma. We believe in Second Chances. If you know of a teenager that needs a Second Chance please tell them about this program.
