"Coach Shane" is the student portfolio film of alumni Drew Renaud. In his words:
I wanted to tell a story that was close to my heart. A coming of age story that I recognized later during my years of growing adolescence of people in my life that I had once looked up to. On that note, I’m thankful for the people in my life that played as an influence that brought out a presence of true strength in humility and humbleness for me to tell a story in hopes to question the audience of certain role models and “leaders” that they look up to.
“Coach Shane” is a short film about Lucas (Disney regular, Daniel Samonas), a sixteen-year-old boy who idolizes his egomaniac hockey coach (Joseph Falasca), while simultaneously losing respect for his supportive and humble natured father (Gary Telles). The film explores this dichotomy of relationships while demonstrating how one eventful night can change Lucas and his opinion of what it is to be a man.
