After a road trip that spanned most of California with her husband James, Dianne Stewart knew something was very unusual about her usual cough. Soon after, a trip to the emergency room revealed a diagnosis of stage II lung cancer. This came as a huge blow, leaving Dianne and her family with far more questions than answers. After surgery and 3 rounds of chemo, Dianne was cancer-free and her will became stronger, which led her and James to give back by becoming CanCare volunteers. Unfortunately, three years following treatment, Dianne had a recurrence. She shares how her journey with cancer took a toll on her family and describes the new positive person that has emerged despite her ongoing battle with, now, stage IV lung cancer.
