The national graduation rate from high school is 78% while in Georgia in 2013 it was 71.5%. The Georgia National Guard and the State of Georgia came together in 1993 to create two Youth Challenge Academy programs - one at Fort Stewart and the other at Fort Gordon. Since that time more than 12,000 at risk teenagers have graduated from the 22-week residential program and of these teenagers, more than 9,000 have earned their GED or high school diploma. We believe in Second Chances. If you know of a teenager that needs a Second Chance please tell them about this program.
