The Avery Research Center located in Charleston SC as part of it's Black History Month 2014 Presentations sought to share Gullah Culture through Living History Artists James Island's Carolyn Jabulile White - The Gullah Story Teller and Mt. Pleasant's Henrietta Snype - Educational Artist specializing in Sweetgrass Basketmaking.
They both spoke Gullah life here in the Lowcountry of South Carolina. The impact of traditions on the modern day family and the art world.
There were two sessions held that day. They both had a different energy about them. Sharing Gullah Culture II shall be uploaded in the near future.
