Award-winning director Armondo Linus Acosta's Romeo Juliet is a cinephonic masterpiece that defies all classifications. This stunning expressionistic film, also presented in concert with a live symphony orchestra, has drawn enthusiastic sold-out audiences around the world. Acosta's unique version of Shakespeare's timeless poetry is delivered by the voices of some of the world's most acclaimed actors including Maggie Smith, Vanessa Redgrave, Ben Kingsley, Robert Powell, Francesca Annis, Victor Spinetti, Quentin Crisp and John Hurt -- who plays an eccentric Venetian bag lady. This cultural milestone features rare cinematograpy and unforgettable images of a cast of 108 cats, whose natural grace and choreography are synchronized to Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet Ballet score, performed by the London Symphony Orchestra and conducted by Andre` Previn. Sold-out live film-concert presentations of Acosta's Romeo Juliet were performed at the Palais des Beaux-Artis in Brussels with the National Orchestra of Belgium conducted by Nicholas Cleobury, and at the NK Hall in Tokyo with the Shin Nihon Philharmonic conducted by Yoko Matsuo. Acosta also composed Romeo Juliet's signature theme, which is also featured in the film's score.
