Charcoal burning in Zambia has caused rampant deforestation in the area. Lloyd was once part of this problem. As he himself has said, ‘I cut down so many trees – that I can’t count. I don’t know the number – it’s just too numerous’. But Lloyd gave up charcoal burning and has dedicated his life to reversing the mistakes of his past because he now believes ‘it’s payback time to nature’.
The land Lloyd is using for his nursery was given to him by Chief Makuni. To get it up and running he needs the basics: spades, watering cans, buckets, tools and other building supplies. His dream is to setup a borehole that he can use for watering - and if we reach our third milestone we can make this dream a reality while saving money that Lloyd can then use to grow more trees.
Lloyd deserves your backing because he is making a difference. We believe in the work that he is doing and we’ve seen the positive impact it is having on the ground. Your green thumbs are the key to helping Lloyd to fulfill his life’s purpose.
