The world famous choreographer Jiří Kylián’s performance East Shadow will be the guest star of this year’s Budapest Dance Festival.
The prestigious dance event, organised by the National Dance Theatre, will take place between 22nd-29th April 2014 in the Castle Theatre and in the Festival Theatre (Palace of Arts).
The Doug Varone and Dancers (USA) will perform at this year’s Budapest Dance Festival with their evening entitled Boats Leaving / The Bench Quartet / Rise.
Szeged Contemporary Dance Company will hold their premiere of the The Rite of Spring within this programme, and their programme will also include Mimikri. The Éva Duda Company with their premiere of Flashback –Pictures at an Exhibition and the Budapest Dance Theatre with their premiere of the Diary of Anne Frank. Yvette Bozsik will present her piece Coyote for children at the Budapest Dance Festival, and the PR-Evolution Dance Company are preparing their premiere entitled Eternal Spring.
As in previous years, the closing event of the festival programme will be the Gala Evening in Honour of International Dance Day organised by the Hungarian Dancers’ Association.
