“kotonoha breakdown” is a song based on the motif of happenings around the Internet following the clear memories of 3.11 (The Great Tohoku Earthquake of March 11, 2011).
This song expresses the sudden change to ordinary lives, the vanity of the meanings and the power of words that were being interpreted incorrectly and spread by people who may not have properly understood them, as expressed through the personalities of fhana’s members with their vivid imagery and sound.
“kotonoha breakdown” is the first song we ever made since we formed fhana. After the 3.11, mixture of good and bad information flooded various social networks, and people came to conclusions and based their opinions without fully understanding each other. But on the other hand, thanks to the power of the social networking, fhana was able to become a group. With the feeling of hope and despair at that time, we made our first song and would like to share the music video on this day.
We sometimes get narrow-viewed and can’t see our surroundings when we focus on methods of communication like typing via twitter.I expressed that kind of state of mind and the stress that was expressed on the Internet through motion graphics. I’m happy if you could take notice of the moments when the background shifts into letters and cute characters.
