This is a 1-minute mobile film about a Hindu Kolhi boy, Chetan, from village Syed Matto Shah, taluka Bulri Shah Karim, district Tando Muhammad Khan, Sindh, Pakistan.
Before 1947, the village was actually a town largely populated by Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs, but it lost its glory after the partition of the Subcontinent. Existing Muslim and Hindu communities include Kolhis, Sathias and Siddis.
If you would like to support Chetan and other children in the village to continue their studies and build their brick houses, you can reach them via the villagers’ community organization My Village Community at email@example.com or http://syedmattoshah.wordpress.com.
I belong to the same village, and this is my first mobile film to support the community as a volunteer.
