Inside Sound was a special event, jointly curated by Sound and Music’s ‘Embedded’ composer-in-residence Nathaniel Mann and ethnomusicologist Dr. Noel Lobley.
‘Inside Sound’ transformed the Museum into a listening gallery using surround speakers to engulfed the space in the sounds of a Central African rainforest. Pre-programmed iPads provided interactive portals into the museum's sound and image archives.
Renowned musician David Rothenberg used his array of wind instruments to provide a roaming response to this soundscape.
Inside Sound was a collaboration between OCM and the Pitt Rivers Museum. It took place on 22 November, 2013 and nearly 2200 people visited the museum to experience the event.
