Excerpts from COMBUSTION, Robin Kobrynski_RKO's performance in the Reykjavík Visual Music Live Cinema Competition.
January 30th 2014 at HARPA, Reykjavík Concert Hall (Iceland)
Combustion is a singular performance using electricity as the main source for the generation of sound and image. Combustion is anti-music and anti-graphics, seeking the primitive core in visual and audio to extract only the essence of these sensory experiences.
Combustion is a constant research on the impact of image and sound in a synchronized formless narration, as a sort of a blast lost in space.
Rko is a founding member of the label V-Atak. This label comprises a hybrid combination of musicians and videographers, who've been developing a singular and uncompromising style for over a decade.
Robin Kobrynski aka Rko is an artist working mostly with sound and image. His work focuses on performance and immersive audiovisual formats. Rko is also a graphic designer and filmmaker; he has written several short-films for V-Atak label, of which he is also a founding member. Created in 2005, V-Atak is devoted to the release/publication of audio and video works.
Rko played in many countries favoring heteroclite places, from the Museum of Contemporary Art in Toronto to Squat Milada in Prague, including cinemas or abandonded factories like Rockerill of Charleroi.
As an active part in the audiovisual scene, he's been organising the Visionsonic festival in Ile-de-France for 4 years. Among other things, he has also created the festival poster for Nemo 2012, and the trailer for Visionsonic Festival 2010.
The fifth edition of Punto y Raya Festival took place from January 30th to February 2nd 2014 at HARPA (Reykjavík Concert Hall) in partnership with Reykjavík Visual Music (Iceland). No representation, only Dots & Lines! A fest of pure Form, Colour, Motion and Sound.
