Cuisle Cheoil is the brainchild of a group of musicians who play on a weekly basis at The Ashdown Park Hotel in Gorey, Co. Wexford. The aim of the group is nothing more than the promotion of the best of Traditional Irish Music in the North Wexford area.
Mick O’Brien is a highly regarded performer and teacher of the uilleann pipes. At the age of nine, Mick started learning the pipes in the famous Thomas Street Pipers Club in Dublin, which was also a meeting house for musicians from all over the country.
Ciara Ní Bhriain is a daughter of Mick O’Brien the renowned uilleann piper, and started learning violin at the young age of three. When she was twelve, she began studying viola with Liz Czibi. She is currently pursuing her studies in DIT, on viola with David O’Doherty and the Irish and concert harp with the wonderful Denise Kelly.
All his life, Conor Byrne has been driven by his deep love of music. A highly talented flute player, Conor has recorded 2 albums: ‘Wind Dancer’, and ‘Bavan’ and has toured various corners of the world. He is one of the finest flute players of his generation, who has a deep respect for the tradition of the great music of Ireland. He has an ear for composition, and is particularly excited when challenged to work outside his comfort zone.
