After the conclusion of the 2014 Wind River Race, a few of us hadn't quite gotten our fix for the weekend. While some folks chose to make the hike up Eagle Creek that evening, I opted to get an early start and met the rest of the crew the following morning at Skoonichuck Falls (approx 4 miles up the trail). The evening hikers took the opportunity to explore the upper reaches of eagle creek, hiking up above Tunnel Falls before putting on the creek (approx 8 miles). We had 9 paddlers on the water, plus another hand full of hikers who helped carry gear and take photos. Matt, Jacob, and Ryan fired off Metlako, while I stuck with Skoony and Punchbowl. Jacob chose to paddle his IK on this trip and his decent of Metlako has to be up there in terms of bigger drops that have been attempted in a duck. All in all, Eagle Creek always lives up to the billing.
