Another short stop motion film as part of my Social Tech module (BSc (Hons) Professional Sound and Video Technology) at Salford University.
We were tasked with using mobile cameras and apps to make a 30 second video. This could include stop motion, tilt shift, timelapse or any other inventive camera technique.
I drew the letters out and then took pictures in sequence into a stack in the iPad photos app. The effect is supposed to be that the iPad spits out the letters to spell the words. The message is to our friends from MoCo360 in New Zealand, France and Colombia.
I used a GoPro to take approx 2000 pictures. I then imported the pictures onto my iPad where i used an app called MyStopAction to stitch the photos together and added a simple vignette with an app called Vintique.
I made the music in Logic Pro X. The snares are the sound of the letters dropping from the iPad and are panned left to right and vice versa according to the movement.
This took over 5 hours to film for the 30 seconds of footage.
