Athletes Saving Athletes(ASA) is a program developed by Advocates for Injured Athletes. Certified Athletic Trainers teach student athletes signs and symptoms of concussion, neck injuries, sudden cardiac arrest , heat illness, diabetes and asthma. The program pivots on the stories of 3 athletes that survived catastrophic injuries. All athletes who attend the ASA program learn Hands only CPR and introduction to how to use an automated external defibrillator. ASA began in 2012, to date over 2400 athletes have competed the program and two lives have been saved by ASA program graduates.
