PDC Pori Dance Company premiere of "One Charming Night" will be 13.4.2014 at Pori Theatre, Finland.
Video includes footage of the company rehearsals before premiere and an interview with choreographer Sagi Gross.
'One Charming Night' is related to identity forming. The difficulties of being foreigner in Europe, dealing with argues,
political point of views and discussions, became compulsive for choreographer Sagi Gross and were frustrating.
As an Israeli immigrant to The Netherlands he sometimes experience xenophobia or alienation.
There is no possibility to escape from the feelings that arises from this migration problem,
because of a nationality. But eventually it doesn’t really matter where you are or which nationality you have.
The story of a successful multicultural society, with its freedom and individuality sometimes feels relative
and being used as a good slogan to a commercial of the western world instead of the truth for everybody.
The piece 'One Charming Night' is not a political statement but refers to the 'Gray areas' of margin,
that emerge when you leave the 'comfort zone' that surrounds you as a matter of course.
