What do you do? You have not kept strong in the Lord and now you have a crisis. Or you prayed and you did not get the results you needed? How do you develop overcoming faith quickly?
It all depends on your foundation. Is this a simple "stirring up," or an amost resurection of dead faith into activley believing God?
The answer depends on you. Don gives some steps that can work no matter what your present condition.
But the message is clear, you have work to do.
2 Tim 1:6 "Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of agape-love, and of a sound mind."
If we want resutls, we have to stir ourselves up. Matt 12:11 "...the Kingdom of God suffereth violence, and the violent take if by force."
Jesus showed that healing the sick, casting out demons, raising the dead were relativley quick, but changed hearts are a slightly different matter.
Acts 10:38 "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him." KJV
2 Cor 4:3 "But even if our Gospel (the glad tidings) also be hidden (obscured and covered up with a veil that hinders the knowledge of God), it is hidden [only] to those who are perishing and obscured [only] to those who are spiritually dying and veiled [only] to those who are lost. 4 For the god of this world (SATAN) has blinded the unbelievers' minds [that they should not discern the truth], preventing them from seeing the illuminating light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ (the Messiah), Who is the Image and Likeness of God. 5 For what we preach is not ourselves but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves [merely] as your servants (slaves) for Jesus' sake. AMP
Jesus gave us authority over all the ability of the enemy:
Luke 10:19 "Behold! I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and [physical and mental strength and ability] over all the power that the enemy [possesses]; and nothing shall in any way harm you. 20 Nevertheless, do not rejoice at this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are enrolled in heaven." AMP
Notice that Jesus has given us the responsibility of exercising HIs authority over the devil for Him.
So even for the unbelieving and disputing, we can break the power the devil has on our and thier minds, and trust God to get the light of His love and grace to us.
2 Tim 2:24 "And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, 25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; 26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will." KJV
One key is to find ways to make learning the truth fun.
