Uji is a meditative, critical design object. It is a radically different way of looking at, and thinking about time. Uji displays the time-being through the motion of human impermanence - the heartbeat - presenting an alternative proposition to the notion of a 'death-clock' and providing a subtle materialisation of zen philosophy.
