Interactive installation for projected generative visuals, EEG sensors, and live brain waves.

Self-tuning is a vehicle for the merging of self with object and other. The EEG brain waves of two participants trigger and collapse imagery in unpredictable sequences in real time. The imagery synchronizes when the participants' brains oscillate in tandem. This real-time model tunes minds via an aesthetic object.

* tuning is a term used by philosopher Timothy Morton

Morton on beauty:

The experience of beauty and of the sublime, argues Kant, is one of tuning yourself to the object. [...] The Tibetan Buddhist analogy for dying is a vase. When a vase explodes, the space inside the vase merges instantly with the space outside. It's only a short hop skip and jump from here to an object-oriented theory of beauty. Beauty is the end of an object.
