Cube-in, is a learning kit designed to teach beginners about fundamental concepts in physical computing. Through play and observation, users grasp digital and analog signals, inputs and outputs, and mapping between inputs and outputs before they work on electronics and construct their circuits. By simplifying interaction methods, Cube-in provides an accessible entry point to key physical computing concepts.
I built this project to teach myself basic digital and analog electronics. Although I have been playing with Arduino and sensors/actuators for years, I often faced my lack of knowledge; by designing this kit, I was able to solidify the fundamental concepts such as digital/analog, input/output, mapping, pwm, vcc/groud/signal, et cetera. By using inexpensive craft materials, I wanted to encourage any type of beginners to design their own Cube-in kits to teach themselves as a steppingstone to understand the basics of physical computing.
