This year as we celebrate the 200th anniversary of the abolition of the slave trade in the British Empire, we should not neglect exploring what we can do in 2007 to bring rescue and freedom to those being held as slaves in our world. There are more than 25 million human beings held as slaves in our world today; this is even more than those extracted from Africa during all 400 years of the transatlantic slave trade. What can be done to put an end to this and other forms of violence in our world today? Larry Martin will explain the sobering truth and what can be done about it.
