Russel Harvey interviews Justin Henry, former child star of Kramer vs. Kramer, the youngest person ever nominated for an Academy Award, 1990. 30 min.
We hear so much about child stars who grow up to become awful adults with tragic lives. Justin Henry is the exact opposite: A child star who grew up to be a terrific young man. When I interviewed Justin, on my Award Winning Cable Television Show, RUSSEL HARVEY ALMOST LIVE, he was a student at Skidmore College. polite, focused and intelligent. This was Justin's first in-depth television interview. We discussed his experience auditioning for and making Kramer vs. Kramer, and later Tiger Town, Sixteen Candles, Martin's Day and Sweet Hearts Dance. W.C. Fields got it wrong when he said, "Never work with children or animals." Working with young Justin Henry, Dustin Hoffman and Meryl Streep both won their first Oscars (Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress); and Robert Benton won his first two Oscars, for Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay.
