An EETD Seminar on March 25, 2014 -- Speaker: Christopher Tessum, University of Minnesota
Society is in the midst of a great effort to understand and mitigate anthropogenic greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and their effects on the global climate. However, GHG emissions are not the only, and sometimes are not even the largest, environmental impact of human activities....This talk will explore the air quality and environmental justice impacts of several proposed transportation fuel interventions: the use of liquid biofuels, the adoption of electric vehicles, the use of biomass feedstocks to power electric vehicles, the adoption of compressed natural gas (CNG) powered vehicles, and the improvement of vehicle fuel-economy.
