Paperfile is for oqbo an elemental concept, realized in order to bring the public in contact with art. Two file cabinets, filled with selected works on paper from approximately ninety artists, readily await the curious visitor who is eager to enjoy the potential discoveries that lie within. Oqbo invites you to open the drawers of your choice, selecting the portfolios that interest you. The viewer is free to observe the works up close, without glass and frame. This type of personal encounter allows for calm and peace while looking at the art works, and is not for the hasty. The works present themselves as material fact, the material as the conveyor of ideas. Time is the only requirement should you want to delve deeply into the collection. Hierarchy does not exist in the file cabinets, and the portfolios are not organized by medium, size, artist name or price. Drawings and paintings are just as likely to be found as photography and collages. Conceptual, narrative, and serial approaches complement each other, giving the collection depth and dynamism. Feel free to use the catalogue or the present representative from oqbo as a guide, an art-compass, through the cabinets. Or simply allow your own intuition and passions to lead you.
