Over the course of 11 weeks, fifteen 8th grade students from BLCI participated in The AjA Project’s new Full STEAM Ahead program. Through hands-on activities, guest lectures and applied experiences, these young people learned how photography and art relate to STEM- Science Technology Engineering and Math.
On Monday, March 24, AjA teamed up with Pacific Arts Movement’s Drive-By Cinema to hit the streets with the work that the youth produced. Family, friends, and community members joined us in front of Panchitas Bakery in Barrio Logan to view a slideshow and video of the students in action. There was even a pop-up darkroom on the sidewalk! Check out the video of the class and the event.
