The filmlet "Mit Oma in Bilbao" (With Grandma in Bilbao) is based on the tale "Meine Oma war in Rio" (My Grandma was in Rio) by Gudrun Pausewang, a German writer, who is famous especially for her important contributions to the children's and youth literature.
The story about the racist granny was transfered from Rio de Janeiro to Bilbao by the German native speaker students of the 5th and 6th form of the German School of Bilbao in spring 2008. The video was produced on the occasion of Mrs. Pausewang's reading at the German School of Bilbao on June 2008. (She liked it very much.) It is as well a contribution to the international multimedia school magazine "trait d'union": traitdunion-online.eu , which is at present the base of an international school project (Comenius Program, supported by the European Commission) entitled "Intercultural Driving Licence".
The film music was composed by Bernd Lücking, music teacher at the Michaeli-Gymnasium München, and the video was directed by Lothar Thiel, teacher of German at the German School of Bilbao and project manager of "trait d'union".
