Yuva Parivartan is a part of our acceleration portfolio and joined the program in 2010. This team was reaching 18000 youth when we began working with them - and the acceleration process helped them trigger a key shift in their operations design: From running & managing training centers to implementing a series of short training camps in rural catchments, unlocking an innovative mobilization strategy that creates aspirations & demand for more livelihood and skills training. This led to a 400% growth in the number of students that the team could now train every year. The camp program were designed to train candidates in the key technical and life skills along with infusing aspirations to lead a better life and find financial stability. In addition YP also established its presence in deep, remote rural villages where they were not present earlier. Prototypes were implemented in Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Bihar. This model is now scaling across several States in India and YP is in discussions with NSDC to make this a sustainable model. As a result YP reached 122000 youth in 2013-14 - and aims to build operational capacity to reach 1 million youth each year by FY 2017.
