HKR formed part of the Celtic metro bid for the Metro North PPP bid.
HKR lead the preparation of the revised bid design to meet RPA requirements and participated in the full submission review process. HKR lead and coordinated the local team for architecture, planning, pedestrian floor analysis and wayfinding in the full bid submission.
The new bid design covered all aspects of the Metro North route including stations, tunnels, ventilation shafts, park & ride facilities and maintainence facilities. The metro system was designed to interface with the existing Luas and DART systems, carrying 20,000 people in each direction per hour, 34 million passengers per year, with trains runningevery two minutes at peak times.
