Two years ago the GLA offered apologies about the conduct of Heritage Wardens and the false claims of their manager Dean Eardley.
Now the Wardens and Mr Eardley are at it again. This time two different groups of students were told by them they couldn't film in Trafalgar Square unless they produce Student ID cards.
When challenged, the wardens first claimed their behaviour was backed by Bye-Laws, but later they backtracked and spoke about "GLA Student Protocols", and their manager, Mr. Eardley, suggested that film-makers were only being offered "advice" not "directions".
The students involved have confirmed that they were told to stop by the men in uniform, and repeatedly asked for ID.
The GLA must stop this unlawful behaviour and honour their previous public assurances that "There are no restrictions on photography or filming for private or amateur use."
It's time for the GLA to get the lawless Heritage Wardens under control, and to admonish Mr. Eardley who keeps bringing the GLA into disrepute.
