As we continue the Cornerstone sermon series we see what Jesus Christ, the Chief Cornerstone, is equipping us to do. He equips us for that which He requires of us.
“He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
These three “requirements” encapsulate all that God calls and equips his people to do. Today, we will look at what it means to “love mercy.” Luke 7:47 shows a clear connection between love and mercy. Those who have received great mercy have a greater capacity to love than those who require little mercy.
I want to declare to you today that I need massive amounts of mercy so my love will increase accordingly. Please don’t settle for anything less than total dependence and love for God’s mercy shown to you, as well as those around you who deserve it the least!
