Grabbed my camera to try and do justice to the amazing electrical storm over Koh Samui last night. These are actually quite frequent in the months between dry and wet seasons. What makes it spectacular is the sheer number of flashes. Not only that, usually the lightning stays in the air, so there's no thunder clap - just a silent, spectacular light show. That's my wife Emma cavorting around enjoying the performance by the way, filmed from Bangrak Beach in the north of the island.
