After Second World War Dengue fever rapidly becomes an epidemic world-wide suffering almost 109 countries. Pakistan faced the epidemic of dengue since 2010, thousands of people has been killed and infected by this mosquito-borne disease. Government and humanitarian activists are working to prevent spread of the epidemic. GLOBE is working to increase public awareness on dengue outbreak, for the purpose the organization launched its multi-sect oral program tagged as “Dengue Awareness Campaign”. Under the program the organization’s team organized seminars, quiz competitions, speech competitions and awareness walks at schools, colleges, universities and community level. This equipped community with information on dengue outbreak and prevention methodologies of this threat. Pamphlets including information regarding dengue fever and its prevention were distributed.
The program is implemented in Swat and Charsada districts of KPK initially and will be extended to other areas latter on. Peoples from different walk of life including doctors, lawyers, media personals, traders, students etc participated actively in the program. The program is supported by Charssada Press Club and Dilbar Radio FM 93 Charssada. GLOBE’s volunteer movement ZALMAYKUL is implementing the project under supervision of the organization’s professional team.
