When you live in a land of abundance, it is hard to think of losing anything. The American tall grass prairie is one of the world's most rich and abundant ecosystems and yet, human activity over the last 100 years has diminished this vast landscape to but a fraction of what it once was. For years, experts have been studying the signature bird of the tall grass prairie, The Greater Prairie Chicken and believe it to be a beacon of the health of the entire ecosystem. Today, it's survival hangs by a thread. If the Greater Prairie Chicken is lost, we may well loose the American Prairie. This poignant film explores the delicate balance between human life and the natural world.
