The Jacob Stoneking Inaugural Benefit for Candlelighters for Children with Cancer held at Miramont Pointe.

This benefit was to honor Jake, and his sole wish to help make a difference for families, like his, facing childhood cancer. The event included Jake's favorite meal - BBQ Potluck style, line-dancing, games, guest speakers, and a raffle auction.

Jacob Stoneking, known by family and friends as “Jake”, is the son of Wendy Stoneking, business office director at Miramont Pointe, and an employee for the past eight years. The benefit dinner and party also celebrated Jake’s life and care for others. Jake is facing a terminal form of brain cancer called medulloblastoma and wants to help others by supporting the organization which has brought great comfort and support to him and his family.

Every year, Candlelighters helps over a thousand families in Oregon and SW Washington.

Thanks to Miramont Pointe Senior Living Community and the folks at The Goodman Group for sponsoring this entire event and their work in acquiring all of the donations from so many different businesses.

Drew and I were blown away by the mass amount of people that attended this event and came to honor Jake's wishes. It is so inspiring, and I stand in awe, of an 18 -year-old boy, despite having a terminal illness, beaming with joy and genuine love for everyone around him.
