Two weeks ago I was dusting copy machines in a Seattle print shop. Life had slowed down for me over the past several years, as it often does nearing thirty, and I was day-dreaming of adventure.
Then, out of the blue, I received a letter from my best friend, Walker. He had been on the road nearly two years, traveling the world mostly by thumb, but sometimes by train, bicycle, or donkey. In 30 days he would reach central China and from there he would trace the Mekong River from its headwaters near the Tibetan Plateau to the mouth of the 9 Dragons in Southern Vietnam. “In need of adventure,” he asked? “Funny, I’m in need of a friend.”
Lost on the Mekong is a DIY reality web series about a fascinating region wrought with challenges. It’s a series about two hopeless romantics bound by friendship and adventure. And yeah, it’s about one AMAZING river.
