No Hero in Heroin:
A Hard Look at the Rhode Island Epidemic
Produced by WSBE Rhode Island PBS
Rhode Island PBS takes a hard look at what Rhode Island health officials are
calling an epidemic: the skyrocketing deaths by heroin overdose. No Hero in
Heroin presents a spectrum of perspectives on the story. Health officials,
addiction counselors, recovering addicts, and family members put the
intimate, human faces on the startling statistics. Since January 1, there
have been more than 70 overdose deaths Rhode Island, more than twice as many
as last year.
