OR MY GRANDMOTHER WAS A POET WHO COULDN´T WRITE
My name is Mila after my grandmother Milagros. I`m the product of tradition and reverie. I´m stuck in Calamocos a small village in el Bierzo (Spain) which seems to be named after snot. „Moco“ means snot.
In Calamocos people fight crisis through faith and flowers and through the help of a saint that holds his own cut tongue in his hand. In Calamocos women fight evil with needles hidden in their bras. In Calamocos my grandmother teaches me everything I need to know to become devotional.
This is the story of my homeland and my family, which is more or less the same, because in Calamocos we are all family.
