Giving Something Back (GSB) is a supported volunteering and peer advocacy project provided by Westminster Drug Project (WDP). It is aimed at former service users who are in a place of stability within their recovery and seek support to reintegrate into the community. GSB received a three year grant from the Big Lottery Fund to run the programme across various London boroughs from 2011, and has been hugely successful so far.
Our new film showcases GSB's work and how it helps former service users to give back to their local community, and in turn to give back to their own development and recovery journey. It features case studies from peer advocates taking part in the programme, as well as WDP staff and service users who have been influenced by GSB's unique work.
