This took a few weeks in total. The track is 29,500 feet in length! Rather than going the more complicated IK route, I simply used parent / child relationships to make the driver's arms move with the steering. The model and surrounds are low poly count. My biggest regret was not including more stationary objects trackside to give the impression of speed, but then again it's the detail / render time balance. As is, 6 seconds took 48 hours to render on a 2.5ghz Quad core! Programs used in post were pretty ordinary: Pinnacle Studio and (believe it or not!) Windows movie maker :p
