Getting to the Olympics once is a lifetime achievement for most athletes. Getting there three times is on another level. Something that is only possible with a lot of skill and a tremendous work ethic. It's beyond hard, but Mercedes Nicoll earned it.
February 12, 2014 was a huge goal for Mercedes, but changed to a nightmare in an instant with a massive crash during practice just before her contest runs. This edit chronicles the lead-up to the Olympics, her official appointment to the Canadian Halfpipe Team, her horrible crash, and her recovery. Mercedes is truly amazing, and continues to get better every day.
