Angela's Story - The Brain Injury Community

In 2012 Angela suffered a brain injury when the lid of a camper trailer fell, trapping her head against the trailer. Once the physical injuries healed she was sent home from hospital with very little support – she fell into depression. Thirteen years later she founded her own charity, The Brain Injury Community, to make sure others are not left alone and unsupported – its main purpose is to create a community of people with brain injury to connect them together and heal social isolation.

The Brain Injury Community runs regular events in QLD and now, with help from Social Futures and the NDIS, she is bringing those events into Northern NSW.
