We launched yet another beverage related site today. Lejay is a French black current liqueur very popular in France. They wanted to replicate their success over the pond and we were given the task of creating their site in collaboration with ABCK Corp.
Having your website adapt to the platform, environment and screen size of the user is a must today. We have so many devices out there and we want to target every single one. Many solve this with a separate version. The URL is typically "domainname.com/mobile" or a subdomain like "mobile.domain.com". We don't think this is the best way of doing it. Besides causing problems if you share a link from mobile to a friend on a desktop, it can also be a hassle to maintain multiple versions of a site.
We believe in a "responsive" approach. Lejay is one site. With one easily shareable URL. It works on every modern device. The user interface, images and form fields simply readjusts and conforms. It is as easy to use the store locator to find your bottle of Lejay on your laptop as on your iPhone. The gorgeous images of burgundy will be crisp and adapt your screen, and the cocktail cards readable on your small iPhone screen.
