This is a quick little animation created in Adobe After Effects for a game I am creating for IM451 at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. The game is called Hope Floats. Hope Floats is a game that tells the story of a little girl named Porkchop. Porkchop misses her mother and father and so she goes to visit their gravestones. She brings them a letter and while she is there, she finds a balloon and decides to go visit her parents in Heaven by floating up into the sky. Her journey is to collect hope (which is done through collecting the 3 hope hearts) but she can also earn hope by collecting balloons of the same color. But the hope doesn't last forever, so she must balance her collecting balloons with gathering the hope hearts or she won't be able to reach her parents and move to the next level.
The game is meant to allow players to empathize what it feels like to lose your parents at a young age but still have dreams. It illustrates just how valuable hope is to someone in that situation.
