“There is a start, middle and end” displays a video self-portrait lacking context. It is a personal exploration of subjectivity and objectivity, leaving myself on screen ultimately becoming the “subject”. Roles are reversed as the viewer becomes the real image-maker, and I have now become the subject behind the lens. The self-image is represented and the physical details of myself are potentially available to an objective investigation and judgment by others. With no speaking or environmental context, the viewer is left only to question and imagine without knowing anything but physical qualities.
