In Social Networking, There are no mysteries as to what people want. At any given social event or destination, whether its at a music festival, a nightclub, a restaurant, a vacation, people are constantly on social media. Social media becomes your best friend when you get lost for a minute at a bar. On many nights out, people will spend more time looking at their phone, communicating thru their phone, whether it's thru texting or thru their social networks, than they do communicating with actual people in physical attendance.
Why is that?
It goes back to the old theory of "The Grass is always Greener on the other side" and as the social networking industry continues to evolve, that saying is becoming more and more real-time. People want to know if what they're doing and where they are is the hottest place to be, is it "The Move" or is there another "Scene" somewhere nearby that they are missing out on. In a word, it's FOMO, the Fear of Missing Out. People want to use their Social Networks to map out where their existing friends are and what they're doing but also to connect with new, attractive people, who they do not yet know in the real world, but maybe they should. People want to use social media to "Humbly Brag" to their existing friends, and "Self-Promote" to their potential friends.
This is what people want, and the idea is to serve it up to them in a way that is more unique, more simple, more trendy and just better than they've ever experienced it before. And Sceney Network is my attempt to do that...
