Looking up at a cloud covered sky over downtown Chicago, I packed my things and headed west. 45 minutes later I broke free from the cloud cover and got off the thruway in Elgin, IL. Filmed this from an abandoned Lowes parking lot with my Blackmagic Cinema Camera and Canon 70-200MM f/2.8. This was the first eclipse of any kind that I've seen. My favorite part was watching earth's shadow engulf the moon. Next time I'm going to try and get my hands on a bigger lens as I wasn't able to get as close to the moon as I wanted with the Canon 70-200MM.
